The Week Ahead: ZM, DELL, CRWD, ANF, NTNX plus more.

I hope everyone had a great week. This is my first weekend issue of Stocks in Play. In these issues I aim to share the results of my weekend routine. I try to switch off as much as possible in the weekends and get out of the house but I always look to the week ahead as part of my trade factory. I manually make a watchlist of the following week of earnings and attempt to be aware of any upcoming events that I should be aware of. I will always highlight notable upcoming earnings for the week and plan my schedule around potentially trading them before market or after hours.

The Week Ahead

We are heading into a short week with markets closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. I have an annual note on my calendar to avoid much trading this week. Stocks tend to be choppy and whipsaw with low volume particularly on the Wednesday and Friday. I will be actively trading Monday & Tuesday only and even then I will be quite cautious. Hit and Run will be the name of the game unless one of the earnings is an outlier. There are some macro events noted below. I tend to not pay much attention to these events but I still like to know that they are occurring.

(After Market Close) - DELL, HPQ, CRWD, NTNX, WDAY, ADSK

How it’s going so far…

I’d like to thank everyone for the amazing feedback so far. Some of the emails I’ve received from traders have really encouraged me with this Newsletter. It’s fantastic to hear that experienced traders are finding it to be a useful addition to their process and getting actionable ideas from it. Thanks also for the many suggestions and positive ideas. On Friday I introduced a Monthly Top Picks list. This is essentially a delayed reaction watchlist. The idea of this list is to highlight the strongest catalysts each month that may offer sustained continuations. If I am doing my work correctly these lists should always contain future market leading stocks. I have also introduced a loose rating system. I am open to other feedback and more than happy to converse via email or in Stockbee where I am a member.

Please note I intend to send Wednesdays newsletter late Tuesday night taking in those important earnings. There will be no issue for Thursday and Friday.
