The Week Ahead

The week closed in a bearish manner. We are retesting the recent lows. Next week is obviously all macro and administration related. We have April 2nd as Tariff Day. I expect volatility to be high and will be absolutely in no rush whatsoever to get involved in chopping up my account. While the news will hit hard and fast this coming week it’s really important to not get dragged into opinions on Tariffs or Recession or whatever. Just know when the news is coming and then concentrate on how the market reacts. The price action will tell you all you need to know.

Little to nothing on the earnings front. A few highlights below but nothing that I’m interested in trading in a Real Time reaction and the others are low quality compared to big earnings weeks.

We have some other macro on top of that to take note of. ISM numbers and Jobs reports for March worth noting for volatility. Tariff announcements are on Wednesday and there is additional noise expected with TikTok decision and Tesla Q1 Delivery numbers expected Wednesday.

On a personal note:  I’m in the process of moving my Brokerage over to Schwab (so I can trade ETFS - avoiding EU Rules). I’ve realized I’ve been operating at a disadvantage not being able to easily trade TQQQ, SQQQ, SOXL, LABU etc. especially in times of higher volatility. I have traded Futures but I don’t like the contract aspect to those. Avoiding the individual stock dilemma when trying to catch a bounce or an inverse move is a real simplification that I see pros use. The positive is I still get to use DasTrader so the actual UX is not going to change for me so hopefully the move is relatively seamless!
