The Week Ahead

Finally we are about to have the first full trading week of 2025. This is the accepted beginning of earnings season with JPM, GS, MS, and WFC kicking off the season as usual. We will also see the UNH & TSM earnings this week. Major conferences of note are the ICR Retail Conference and the JPM Healthcare Conference. Markets are in a tricky place though I am expecting another short term bounce spot this week that may be playable.

Some interesting minor earnings - AEHR, TTAN, APLD. We will also have CPI numbers on Wednesday. I’d guess that the commentary from the bank CEOs will also be notable for market narrative.

Cautious on Monday and ideally looking for some sort of gap down situation.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
