The Week Ahead : February 10th - 14th 2025

Highlights: Earnings Bonanza, Tariffs, Powell Testimony

The Week Ahead

China Tariffs likely to be the narrative this week outside of some exciting earnings reports. The reciprocal China Tariffs come into play next week. If we follow the same playbook as previous tariffs we will see a phone call or meeting to quickly resolve. I think this may be more protracted than the Mexican and Canadian debacle. That being said it’s not worth overthinking it. Simply beware of the price action that can occur with this volatility.

Nice list of earnings into the week. Some highlights ALAB, SHOP VRT, SMCI, UPST on Monday and Tuesday before hitting the meat of the week on Wednesday and Thursday with some high flyers RDDT, TTD, HOOD, CSCO, APP, DDOG, COIN, ABNB, PANW.

We will also have some Macro events. Most notable likely Powell’s semi annual testimony to the banking committee on Tuesday. CPI on Wednesday & PPI Thursday. We will also have Republicans releasing their Reconciliation bill blueprint on Monday. I don’t know much or care about this stuff but likely you will see some market noise around it next week.

I have a busy week this week so will unfortunately not be publishing any newsletters. I hope to do a bumper Newsletter next weekend to discuss any catalysts I saw that I think will be sustainable. My aim is to trade earnings reactions After Hours only. I will miss out on some plays I am absolutely sure but I’ve learned that if you have other commitments then put trading on the back seat. The market will be there and ready when you return.
