The Week Ahead
We’ve had some very strong rallies in stocks. Everything has been relatively correlated in the past week. I think we may start to see some stocks decoupling from the market this week. Especially if the market consolidates or pulls back.
We have a MEGA earnings week and what we want to see are the stand out movers and stand out results and guidance. I think the easy moves may be done. A lot of okay results will be priced in from last week. In some respects this makes it easier as you can be more selective.
You can see below the stocks I have highlighted but realistically there are many more to go through each day. The major hitters are Wednesday evening with META, MSFT, HOOD & QCOM along with Thursday evening with APPL, AMZN & RDDT but around those we won’t be left wanting.
It pays to keep it simple on these weeks. Don’t look for a complicated story. Don’t spread yourself too thin it can be tempting to go into a day with 10 stocks on a focus list on a week like this. Just don’t. Make your selection of two or three names and live with your decisions. FOMO will drive you nuts.
As is the norm now there will be plenty of macro news this week. Canadian elections, Tariff drama and some economic numbers including US PCE (Wed 10amEST), Jobs Report (08:30amEST).
The market has ran hard the past few days, as is normal off of a bottom and a higher low. Once the VIX continues to drop we should assume that a new trend is beginning. Some consolidation or gap down days that get bought would be bullish.
As far as I am concerned we are back to regular Bull programming until further notice.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
