The Week Ahead : April 21st - 25th 2025

Highlights: Earnings TSLA, GOOG and hundreds more!

The Week Ahead

This week is all about the earnings. We have around 400 companies reporting including some major market movers. I still believe we will have some real winners out of this current macro environment. Similar to Covid winners. I will be making an extra effort this week to cover as many stock moves as I can and investigate them that bit more to see if I can catch a real catalyst. The biggest headline names this week are GOOG, TSLA, INTC, ABBV, BA but there are many more potential movers with CMG, LVS, MBLY, ENPH, ISRG etc. I could go on.

We also have plenty of FED speakers this week (image below) and IMF Meetings in Washington so expect plenty of Tariff talk and headline risk throughout the week. No doubt there will be plenty of news bombs and we just have to live with them. As always I will be keeping an eye on the VIX. If it’s not advancing I’ll just be concentrating on the stocks.

I think sentiment is so bad right now that not much has changed. Any positive moves will rally the market. This is the same for names like GOOG & TSLA. The latter, especially, has the worst sentiment in my memory and expectations are that it’s earnings will be a blood bath. When sentiment is so bad in stocks then one day moves get easier even if results are ‘‘not as bad’’ as feared. That’s worth keeping in mind.

It’ll be a busy week. Keep it simple and preserve mental capital.

Thursday:

(After Market Close) - GOOG, INTC, VALE, TMUS

Friday: 

(Before Market Open) - ABBV
