1) Rocket Lab USA Inc. (RKLB) (Rating: B-, Single-Day, Top Picks November 😼)
Industry Group: Aerospace & Defense, Market Cap: $11.6b, Float: 297m, Short Interest: 16.5%, Days to Cover: 3.5, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: This is a top pick in November but not from today’s news. But it also means I’m more focused on any news that comes out for it. This morning they set company record for their fastest launch turnaround (24 Hours) albeit with two separate launches from two different hemispheres, one from Virginia and the other from New Zealand. Regardless, it’s a stock that is running and has 1m pre market volume and is up 14% now pre market. The stock closed above it’s previous All Time high close last week so we have no resistance above. This is a very hot sector right now. I have marked it as single day today as I don’t think todays catalyst is that strong. High Short interest. Also secured a $23.9m grant from Dept of Commerce to increase semiconductor manufacture capability.
2) Bath & Bodyworks (BBWI) (Rating: C, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Apparel Retail, Market Cap: $6.72b, Float: 216m, Short Interest: 4.3%, Days to Cover: 1.5, Exchange: NYSE
Catalyst: Slight Beat on Revs, Slight Beat on EPS, Reasonable Raise on FY24 Outlook Revs & EPS, Expects $400m Share Repurchase, Revs set to decline YoY but less of a decline than originally anticipated. On a slow news day this makes it into my watchlist and in a market that seems to be rewarding anything. Stock up 10% Pre-Market.
3) BridgeBio Pharma Inc (BBIO) (Rating: B+, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Apparel Retail, Market Cap: $4.42b, Float: 147m, Short Interest: 11.6%, Days to Cover: 8.25, Exchange: Nasdaq
Catalyst: Attruby approved by FDA to reduce cardiovascular death and hospitalization in ATTR-CM Patients. Lucrative market competing with Pfizer, news was originally released after the close on Friday so some caution advised. Good volume pre market with stock up 20% on 700k Volume. High Short Interest. As always Biotech’s can be difficult and I’m the first to admit I don’t understand a lot of the nuance so I always treat them as single day trades.
Honorable Mention to: Drone Stocks - On Sunday Elon Musk criticized manned fighter jets on X, advocating instead for unmanned drones. Drone stocks have been running hard. This morning I see JOBY, PDYN, UAVS ACHR etc. moving. Full Drone Stock watchlist. Not sure there is a real catalyst here but we’re in a very speculative market right now. PLTR - Dan Ives Price Target raise to $75 likely keeps this moving from Friday’s range expansion.
Market Awareness
There is a lot of speculative stuff moving pre market on little or no news. I am cautious into this morning particularly as it seems to me to be a relatively slow news morning. Quantum Computing, Space Travel Stocks, AI Stocks, Crypto Stocks all moving pre market on volume. I would maintain caution early on in the day.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
