TLDR Stocks in Play: DIS, ASML, DLO, LUNR, CRYPTO
Welcome to today's Stocks in Play report. Below are the key stocks to watch, along with brief Xray and Analysis. My main source of news is BenzingaPro. Check out their 2 Week Free Trial. The other tools I use daily are listed at the bottom of the email.
1) Walt Disney Company (DIS)
Industry Group: Movies & Entertainment, Market Cap: $186b, Float: 1.8b, Short Interest: 1%, Days to Cover: 2, Exchange: NYSE
Catalyst: Sentiment is still very low for Disney, meaning expectations are low also. Small EPS Beat, Small Revs Beat, 6% Rev Growth, Expects Double Digit EPS Growth 26/27, 4.5% QoQ Disney+ & Hulu Subs. (174m total) Bullish commentary from CEO Bob Iger (see below). Not sure how much juice this can get as the segments results were a mixed bag. Gap fill at $110.50 ish. If bullish analyst upgrades come in maybe we can see some more steam.
"In Q4 we saw one of the best quarters in the history of our film studio, improved profitability in our streaming businesses, a record-breaking 60 Emmy Awards"
2) DLocal Ltd (DLO)
Industry Group: Packaged Software Market Cap: $2.5b, Float: 62m, Short Interest: 21%, Days to Cover: 10.6, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: Slight EPS Miss, Slight Revs Beat. Revs Growing 13% YoY Guidance Unchanged. Nothing spectacular about these earnings however it has heavy short interest so inline might be good enough. Stock is very depressed and there is a very obvious long term downtrend since IPO. A break above $11.50 (ish) might start a squeeze.
3) ASML Holding NV (ASML)
Industry Group: Semiconductors, Market Cap: $260b, Float: 393m, Short Interest: .3%, Days to Cover: .6, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: Investor Day, Important Semi company had underwhelming earnings and was punished. This morning they reiterated 2030 guide on revs between $44b-$60b + Gross Margins of 56% to 60%. We will see if there are any other interesting comments today and this will likely be closely watched so other semi names could be in play. If the day is overall positive it might be a decent swing position long for beaten down ASML.
4) Intuitive Machines (LUNR)
Industry Group: Aerospace & Defence, Market Cap: $1.5b, Float: 54m, Short Interest: 31.6%, Days to Cover: 1, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: This stock is a pump stock, management rehashing contract wins, press releases etc. However it has the capability to move hard and is part of the Space theme. Their results were a mish mash of quotes and mentions of deals with Revs up 359% YoY. The positive slew of quotes might be enough to continue the great move of yesterdays pick RKLB. Note ASTS also reports tonight.
Honorable Mention to: CRYPTO - I think crypto stocks are worth monitoring today some names like BTCT and BTCS are gapping up heavily on volume this morning. My preferred vehicle is MARA. That’s just a personal preference though.
Market Awareness
Megatech looks to be ready to move. Nice move in AMZN yesterday. I am still in a very short term mode for trading. PPI data today I expect the rest of the week to remain the same hit and run mentality that has been the case so far. I will continue like this until we see some sort of panic or reset occur.
After Hours I’m Watching: ASTS, AMAT
Tomorrow Morning I’m Watching: BABA

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
