TLDR Stocks in Play: JD, MRVL, TECHNICAL PLAYs

Welcome to today's Stocks in Play report. Below are the key stocks to watch, along with brief x-ray and analysis.

Note I missed yesterday, unfortunately it’s just going to be like that for me for the next two weeks or so until I’m back to my normal schedule.

1) JD . com (JD) (Rating: B+, Multi Day)

Industry Group: Internet Retail, Market Cap: $64b,  Float: 1.4b, Short Interest: 2.7%, Days to Cover: 3.7, Exchange: NASDAQ

Catalyst: Solid Beat on EPS, Solid Beat on Revs, Raised Annual Dividend. Outlook positive. I am never a China bull but it must be said that the stocks are performing well in the past few months. This is a solid report and the stock is coming out of a huge base/drawdown. We’re hitting a resistance area of $47 at the open but I think there could be a solid intraday opportunity here. That being said beware of Trump/China Newsbombs…as is the case with everything at the moment.

Honorable Mention to: MRVL - Earnings were inline with some very slight beats and the guide was inline. Stock is getting mashed Pre Market. Currently down 18%. With the market red as well I think there is a bounce potential here as we’re right back to a critical support area of $70/$75 area. Aside from this I’m mainly looking at Technical plays on existing liquid Top Picks (Listed Below).

Market Awareness

It’s a difficult market. Taking profits is essential. I haven’t been trading much at all but when I have I’ve been hit and run. Big money can be made during these volatile markets but you must be flexible. The normal ‘‘rules’’ go out the window. The CANSLIM and the RS traders are getting destroyed. It’s psychological, you either sit it out and wait for your optimal conditions or you do the opposite of most people. Wait for peak fear and buy on extremes and reduce risk quickly. I’ve mainly traded TSLA and PLTR in the past week doing this. Normal SIPs are quite hard right now, follow through is minimal. The market is correlated so you are probably better off picking a big name or else a leveraged ETF. The headlines are coming thick and fast.

I will concentrate on some technical plays today. I do not see anything awesome in Newsplays. Less is more and I will be happy to eek out a decent profit on a mid day bounce on names like PLTR etc.

After Hours I’m Watching: AVGO, COST, GAP, IOT, SERV (Earnings)

Have a Great Day!

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
