1) Corcept Therapeutics (CORT) (Rating: B+, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Pharmaceuticals, Market Cap: $5.75b, Float: 93m, Short Interest: 17.7%, Days to Cover: 16.7, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: CORT today announced that ROSELLA, the company's pivotal Phase 3 trial of relacorilant plus nab-paclitaxel in patients with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, met its primary endpoint of improved progression-free survival, as assessed by blinded independent central review (PFS-BICR). High Short Interest. Hitting the top of a long term trend line pre market but probably the only candidate that is a standard SIP that may ignore the market totally today.
Honorable Mention to: SITTING ON HANDS - No need to be a hero today. We absolutely may turn around early here or the selling may intensify and have a bounce late in the day. Who knows. Relax and watch the price action. No need to go crazy doing anything else. Even if we do bounce better off looking at ETFs rather than single stocks here in my opinion.
Market Awareness
Nice gap down in the Market this morning. The more intense this becomes the better in my opinion. We could have an August 2024 type event. Keep an eye on the VIX. No rush to get involved in anything here. I’m looking to see the market put in a ‘‘scary day’’ for investors. An acceleration into -3,-4% would be amazing but may not happen. Here is how I’m looking at the overall market.

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
