1) Micron Technology (MU) (Rating: B+, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Semiconductors, Market Cap: $110b, Float: 1.1b, Short Interest: 2.9%, Days to Cover: 1.1, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: Solid Beat on EPS ( $1.56 vs est. $1.43), Beat on Revs, Slight miss on Gross Margins and FCF. Supply constraints were a headwind, HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) growth was above $1b. Management were quite bullish in commentary. Overall this is a strong report. Beat on Guidance on Revs & EPS. However the EPS Guide is a relatively wide spread + or - $0.10. It had a strong reaction yesterday evening and I’m surprised by the fade. If the market turns positive I am looking for this to reverse at $96 to $98 (Pre Market Low $98.50 may already have bottomed) area and could easily go green if conditions are right and definitely one I’ll be watching for a delayed reaction if it doesn’t work out today. It’s in a nice base since August so has a lot going for it.
2) Luminar Technologies (LAZR) (Rating: B, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Auto Parks, Market Cap: $182m, Float: 18.5m, Short Interest: 29.6%, Days to Cover: 3.1, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: Big Beat on EPS (-$1.42 vs est. -$2.17), Strong Beat on Revs, Revs only up 1% YoY, Bullish management commentary and recent spotlight moment where a Youtuber compared their tech positively to Tesla FSD. The stock popped on that a few days ago. A proper squeeze could occur over $7.40. Likely to be very volatile and these short squeeze candidates can absolutely collapse so caution is warranted but a decent candidate today all the same.
Honorable Mention to: LMT/BA - A large next gen military contract is expected to be announced today. From what I’ve read Trump is due to speak at 11am EST at the Pentagon. Either BA or LMT will get this contract. This could be a pivotal move if the award is explicit. TSLA - I’m watching Tesla today as the narrative around it is reaching peak negativity in my opinion. The stock is still holding and hasn’t been making new lows. Musk was doing his usual pump last night with Robotaxis and Optimus Robots and there are reports of an all hands meeting at the company. Any sort of positive headline of Musk renewing his concentration on the company or announcements could really pop the stock today. It’s my main Top Pick Technical focus today outside of regular SIPs
Market Awareness
Options expiry today. Likely quite a volatile day. I’m happy we’re opening red vs gapping up and fading. Lots of charts looking like bear flags but we’re still hanging in there. Likely to be lots of whips and chop today. Patience required. Has been quite a positive week for me so as always will be making sure I avoid going into the weekend annoyed. Small wins, cashflow trades to finance the bigger opportunities that are around the corner.
Have a Great Weekend!!

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
