1) Blackrock (BLK) (Rating: A, Multi-Day, Top Pick January 🦒)
Industry Group: Investment Managers, Market Cap: $142b, Float: 138m, Short Interest: 1%, Days to Cover: 2, Exchange: NYSE
Catalyst: Solid EPS Beat ($11.93 vs est. $11.46) Beat on Revs, Huge Operating Margins Beat. KPI - Massive Overall Inflows Beat $281b vs est. $200b. Bullish management commentary. This is obviously a slower mover but from my reading this is a very bullish report and could be a good Position trade in Financials outperform. Adding to my top picks for January. Below is a look at the main KPIs for BLK using Finchat. A product that I am trialing. The Free version is worth having even to see what the KPIs segments are (without the actual figures)
2) J.P. Morgan (JPM) (Rating: B, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Major Banks, Market Cap: $697bm, Float: 2.85b, Short Interest: 1%, Days to Cover: 3.7, Exchange: NYSE
Catalyst: Beat on EPS ($4.81 vs est. $4.11), Big Beat on Revs, KPI NII (Net Interest Income) Target of $94b vs est. $91b Bullish across the board for financials. A lot of coverage will be on Jamie Dimon’s conference call. He is usually pretty candid on his thoughts. There are also talks around him retiring which I think would hit the stock. But right now pre market it is at All Time Highs.
Honorable Mention to: COMP - Raised Revenue Guidance. Stock is capable of having big 1 and 2 day moves. Real Estate software company. Ties in with financials having a positive day. TQQQ - With CPI today if we see a down side move then Indices may be a good play. FNGU, SQQQ, SPY etc. all work. This can be an easier and less stress way of trading correlated markets.
Market Awareness
CPI Today, Yesterday was sort of a nothing day. Realistically it was just a pause. Data will send us one direction or another. Data will be released at 08:30am. Watching VIX today if I see that spiking then I’ll be sitting on my hands. Yesterday we had a red day without a strong VIX there were plenty of opportunities in that rangebound action. If the VIX is spiking though I am sitting out until at least late in the day.
After Hours I’m Watching: CNXC (Earnings)
Tomorrow Morning I’m Watching: TSM, UNH, MS, BAC (Earnings)
Top Pick Watchlists:
LONG: ALAB, HNST, SNOW, ESTC, RKLB, SMTC, URBN, PLTR, GAP, TSLA, SE, RDDT
LONG: CRDO, MRVL, OKTA, FIVE, RBRK, AVGO
LONG: CEG, FUBO, BLK

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
