1) Summit Therapeutics (SMMT) (Rating: C+, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Biotechnology, Market Cap: $16.2b, Float: 110m, Short Interest: 18.6%, Days to Cover: 9, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: Announced Earnings. Beat on EPS. Main headline would be clinical trial collaboration with Pfizer. The rest of the report is just a recap of positive stories from the previous quarter as is common with these biotechs. Main interesting thing here is the large short interest and days to cover. This has moved really well for me in the past so worth watching as a potentially solid SIP today.
Honorable Mention to: Semiconductor/Infra - AAPL announced huge (headline numbers) US Investment this morning in US focused on AI Infrastructure and job creation in the US. Likely to appease the new Government I think this puts Semis in play today if they weren’t already with NVDA reporting this week. I also like AAPL for an intraday bounce if it can manage to reach $240. This will be a widely covered announcement today.
Market Awareness
Choppy to negative conditions last week. Gapping up by about .5% on the futures overnight. I’m not overly enthused to try trade a green open. Would much prefer a red open. So I will be patient on any trades early in the day. Looking for the FOMO Dip Buyers to get smashed early with a fade setting up some intraday bounce opportunities. Looking for singles, less trades and conservative targets today if a trade arises. We should get some great catalyst opportunities this week so no need to jump the gun on a Monday morning! Some more selling would be great. Quiet morning for SIPs so far.

After Hours I’m Watching: HIMS, TEM, TCOM, ZM (Earnings)
Tomorrow Morning I’m Watching: HD, DOCN, CPNG (Earnings)

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
