TLDR Stocks in Play: CHINA, WDAY, ASTS, TSLA
Welcome to today's Stocks in Play report. Below are the key stocks to watch, along with brief x-ray and analysis.
Benzinga PRO 60% OFF Subscription now available. This includes SQUAWK & Full Benzinga Essentials - Scanners, Signals, Fundamentals, Tradingview Charts. This is my main tool with Stocks in Play research and the Squawk provides valuable and incredibly fast information throughout the day, far quicker than more expensive alternatives I’ve used. Check out the Deal Here
1) China (Rating: A, Multi-Week Theme )
Catalyst: China have shifted their Monetary Policy for the first time since 2011 in a broad move. Chinese stocks are all rallying hard. There are also very dovish tones from officials on opening up to foreign investment and stablizing trade. China stocks moved very hard a few months ago but ultimately faded back. This is the biggest policy move since 2011. It should benefit Real Estate (BEKE), Financials (FUTU, TIGR) and Unprofitable Growth (PONY). Then you also have the Large Caps PDD, BABA etc. I think the Chinese stocks will continue to trade in tandem with themselves and we are probably a long way off trying to pick individual winners if they do have a sustained move. My trading preferences are FUTU, TIGR, BEKE and I am interested to see if PONY can make a move as it’s a hot sector (Self Driving Cars, AI).
Here is a wider China Watchlist for your own Study.
2) Workday (WDAY) (Rating: C+, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Information Technology Services, Market Cap: $56.75b, Float: 207m, Short Interest: 2.3%, Days to Cover: 2.4, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: Added to SP500 on Friday. In the past I wouldn’t have considered these Index additions to be good SIPs but in recent times they have resulted in good moves. There was a lot of speculation that APP would be added but WDAY got the nod instead. Above $311 is all time highs currently sitting at $290 Pre Market.
Honorable Mention to: ASTS - AST SpaceMobile and Vodafone Partner for Global Broadband Connectivity Through 2034. TSLA - will reportedly launch a new vehicle called Model Q in the first half of next year, priced below $30,000 after subsidies. The vehicle is expected to help the company achieve 20-30% year-on-year growth in 2025 and will be available in both single and dual-motor drive variants with an estimated range of 500 km, the report added.
Market Awareness
Mondays are always my least favorite market days. Stocks in play tend to be harder to identify early in the morning. There is a lot of wait and see. I try my best not to dive in head first on market open on a Monday in case of reversal negative. That being said China seems to be the big theme this morning. I am no fan of Chinese stocks however the catalyst seems strong enough to launch a multi day run. I want to participate in that if it is the case.
After Hours I’m Watching: AI, BRZE, MDB, ORCL, TOL (Earnings)
Tomorrow Morning I’m Watching: ASO, OLLI, (Earnings)
Top Pick Watchlists:
LONG: ALAB, HNST, SNOW, ESTC, RKLB, SMTC, URBN, PLTR, GAP, TSLA, SE, RDDT, DESP
SHORT: TGT
LONG: CRDO, MRVL, OKTA, FIVE, RBRK

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
