1) AI Biotech Stocks (Rating: A, Single-Day)
Industry Group: Biotech, Exchange: NASDAQ
Catalyst: FDA announced plans to phase out animal testing requirements. This is a potential episodic pivot for several biotech stocks that are connected to AI testing.
SDGR, SLP, RXRX, ABSI are the winners from what I can see. CRL is a net loser.
SDGR, Market Cap: $1.58b, Float: 62m, Short Interest: 15%, Days to Cover: 9, Exchange: NASDAQ
SLP, Market Cap: $517m, Float: 16m, Short Interest: 9.7%, Days to Cover: 7.5, Exchange: NASDAQ
RXRX, Market Cap: $1.76b, Float: 300m, Short Interest: 29%, Days to Cover: 4, Exchange: NASDAQ
Honorable Mention to: The Banks - Actual results from the banks were relatively positive BLK & JPM being the strongest in my opinion but the commentary was relatively cautious about the macro situation. Leveraged ETFs - I think a solid play today is stick to SOXL, TQQQ and play the correlated market on the long side if the VIX can calm. I should mention that I am still looking at AEHR here to squeeze. Narrow day yesterday and showed strength when the market sold. Could run today.
Market Awareness
This morning has the most constructive ‘‘normal’’ action on the Futures I have seen in a while. If we can manage to get the VIX to drop then we may have a positive finish to the week and an opportunity for a decent week next week minus any news bombs.
The VIX is key for any bullish progress today. If it continues to rise or stay so elevated then we will just continue the same drama as the past two weeks.
As always I have no interest in ruining my weekend on a Friday. It’s been a good week all things considered. No need to lose the plot today. Small wins, low risk. Key levels.

Have a Great Weekend!

PS: There are many ways to trade stocks in play. It does not have to be the one that keeps going straight up and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be day one of the catalyst. Everyone must find a setup, timeframe and method that works for them. This list is supposed to educate on the criteria I use and the methods in which I find Stocks in Play. Yours may differ and that is completely okay.
